"Trick or Treating with Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps."

Time for a blog hop.
My favourite digi stamps Tiddly Inks are having a joint blog hop with Simply Betty Stamps.
To join in the blog hop you need to create your blog post using a trick (a technique) or a treat (a gorgeous card)
Unfortunately I am having big printer problems so could not print any images and I didn't have any spooky images already printed out so my entry is slightly different.
I've used a really cute Tiddly Ink image and have used her as the front cover of a notebook I have made as a "treat" for my very good, but very mad friend, Mandy.
Although Mandy has owned her craft robo for 6 years she hasn't managed to get her head round it and resigned it to the corner of her room where old machines go to do. Awwww.
So I have been helping her get started and thought she could do with a notebook so she can keep track of machine settings, favourite settings etc and here it is :

Hopefully this photo shows off her glittery boots better.

The image I've used is called Everyday Princess and can be found here
She has been coloured with promarkers and sakura stardust pens for extra sparkle. I have added orange and blue gems for her crown and thing she's holding in her hand, sorry can't remember its name.
Don't know what the PP is sorry.  The notebook was made using my wonderful Cinch, which is so easy to use I haven't read the instructions.
Hope you enjoy the blog hop and find lots of wonderful things as you wander around.
I will be wandering around everyones blogs tomorrow as the time difference means I will be in bed when it all kicks off.
If you have found yourself here from somewhere other than the blog hop, then hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps blog and check out all the lovely blogs

What's on your workdesk wednesday & my latest circle journal entry

Evening everyone.  After having a big argument with my printer I got some photos printed off for this months circle journal entry.  Not as good a quality as I would have liked but at least it printed some photos.
This months circle journal is called Countryside Seasons.  We have to show our local countryside in our favourite season.
My photos are of Crimble, where I walk my dogs, in the winter.
I think the PP is a dovecraft one, the large snowflakes are punched on my Xcut cut & emboss snowflake punch and the small ones are cut using my Martha Stewart snowflake corner punch.
The lettering was cut on my robo using the snap ITC font.
The journalling was also wrote by my robo and thought it probably doesn't show I used my robo to draw a snowflake using my clear sakura stardust pen.
The photograph doesn't do my layout justice it looks much better in real life.

Now onto my untidy desk.

The grey washbag actually holds my sakura pens.  The box next to my cj layout is my precious self adhesive gems box.  I love gems and sparkle.  The rectangle box infront of my cj is my box of loose gems.
Before you all start thinking I've taken to drinking, what looks like a jack daniels label next to my sloping desk is not actually a bottle of jack daniels its a neoprene glass holder so you're hands don't get cold on the iced drink.  I use for a camera case as we havn't got round to buying a case for it.
Anything else you want to know, just ask.
Have a good evening,
Hugs

In Memory of Amanda Mary

On the 13th of October this year a very good friend of mine from UKScrappers passed away.
Lisa aka 3peaches thought it would be nice if people wanted to make a 6x6 page and she will gladly compile and bind them into a book and send it to her husband and sons so they know how much the people that knew her thru ukscrappers thought of her...

Here is my page :

Amanda was our team leader, of our Crafty Foxes points collecting team on UKScrappers.
She loved Gorjuss girls so I thought I'd keep it simple and combine both the gorjuss girl, a fox and her favourite colour, purple.
I will post it off tomorrow.

My new craft area - at last

Sorry I've been AWOL these past few days but I've been sorting out my craft area.
I won a great desk on ebay last week for £9.99!!! Its in great condition and really big.  My lovely Dad went and collected it with me in the centre of Manchester with the landrover and cattle trailer.  Not the ideal vehicle for the city centre and then on Saturday we went out with the landrover and trailer and collected my other ebay bargain of an Ikea expedit unit.
All I'm missing now is my drawers which will go next to the unit in the corner.  Hoping to go and get them this weekend, fingers crossed.

I've also been putting some bits and pieces on ebay.  You can find my stuff here.
I also managed to install my craft robo onto my netbook so there will be no more traipsing up and downstairs when I forget that vital something.

Today was my good friends funeral.  Amanda Mary will be greatly missed but not forgotton.
RIP Amanda.

Off now to find the invite button on UKScrappers to invite some new members to join us.
Hugs

Whats on your workdesk? Wednesday 69

Well what a mess.......

I don't know what's going on but there's not enough hours in the day.  Tomorrow it is my turn to host our crop and I am on the last minute again.
On my desk you can see my printed and heat embossed tiddly inks images.  These will be on one of the cards tomorrow.
To the right of the coloured image you can see my new tidy pot that my wonderful Dad carved for me this week.
Talking of my Dad, today he took me into Manchester city centre to collect my bargain desk I won on ebay.  Haven't seen it properly yet as I had to stay with the landrover while the desk was loaded into the cattle trailer.
I've also sold my corner settee and will have enough money to get my ikea expedit 5x5 unit and the alex drawers.  I can't wait to get my craft area set up.
Off to watch tv and cuddle my doggies.

Hugs to everyone and thanks for dropping on by,

Sketch Saturday - Week 25 Challenge Card using a Tiddly Inks Image

First of all I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has left me such kind comments.  I really do appreciate them.

Today I needed to do a card for my husbands cousin who turns 15 on Friday.
I'm really enjoying using sketches for my cards at the moment so today's card uses the Sketch Saturday sketch.

I already ad the image printed out so I flipped the sketch on its side as this fitted my image better.
My image is School Boy Mo from Tiddly Inks.
As you are probably aware I love Tiddly Inks and just can't get enough of them.  The single book and stack of books are included in the price of the digi so as well as being cute, he's also a bargain.
Mo is coloured with promarkers and the patterned papers used are from the DCWV Rockstar stack.
I printed the books too big so the sentiment had to go on the stopper of the easel card.

I have alot of cards to do this week and not enough time to do them, so hopefully I will have a blog post a day if you fancy dropping by again,
Hugs

Lili of the Valley Challenge Card - Challenge 69

This weeks challenge over on Lili of the Valley is a sketch, kindly provided by Bev.
Here it is

I needed to make a get well card for my mother-in-laws friend so decided to use the sketch as my inspiration.

I hope you like it.  The stamped image is Little Nurse and is one of very many Lili stamps I have.
The image is coloured in with promarkers to match the PP.
The patterned papers are from DCWV, I think its the spring stack.  The flowers are made using one of my woodware flower punches. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment was wrote with my craft robo
Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment so I know you've been,
H xx.

Tiddly Inks Challenge 25 - Anything Halloween

Boo!!!!
Couldn't resist. :)
As you know we are big fans of all things spooky and cute here at Tiddly Inks, so this week in preparation for the bestest holiday of all time (yup, I mean it! LOL), our theme is Anything  Halloween.

My card for this weeks challenge is quite a simple one.  I have combined two images for my card front and as there was so much going on on the front I decided not to add anything else.

The beautiful witch is from tiddly inks and is called Betty Belfry.  The background is from Doodle Dragon Studio and comes in a set of great Halloween images that can be found here and is called Halloween leftovers.
Betty and the wood are coloured with promarkers.  The strange effect on the card is from the spray glitter I used from Crafters companion.  I've never used it before and think I sprayed too much, but I quite like the effect.
It just needs the pieces of straw Mums bringing later to make her broom.
The inside is the doctors frame from the same Doodle Dragon set as the spooky wood.
The glass jars in the bottom two corners are coated with Anitas clear gloss so make them look glassy.

What's on your workdesk wednesday & Dad does it again

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 71
Just a quick post today as my backs playing up.
A couple of weeks ago I asked my lovely Dad if could make me some storage for my 12x12 papers and he delivered it today.  I had seen it in pieces in his workshop but didn't expect it to be as good as it is.  It holds 10 different lots of papers on sloping shelves as well as having a level storage bit at the bottom.  It is brilliant and would have cost quite a bit if I'd had to buy something like it. He also made me the sloping desk to left hand side so that I don't bend over when colouring and aggravate my back problems.
I've just been sorting papers out after a big tidy up so that's all that's on my workdesk today.  And before any of you ask no you can't adopt my Dad to make you craft storage and other wood related items as he's too busy making stuff for me and Mum!

Three cards and my new bow-easy from Quixotic Paperie

Today I have three cards to share with you.  The first was made yesterday at the crop I go to in Middleton.
Sue brought in lots of stamps, inks and embossing powders, and plenty of choices of card.
I chose to make an autumnal cards, using a flower and leaf medallion stamp, gold embossing powder and three colours of card.
I stamped and heat embossed the image 4 times then cut them to decoupage them. They were then double mounted on brown and gold and put on a pale yellow square card with a peel-off border at the top and bottom.

The second and third cards were made at Sueper craft here in Heywood.  I had a dash to the dentist to have a tooth removed and thought I would my class but with a bit of a rush I made the last hour of the class.
I managed to catch up the others with help from my great friend Kath.
The snowflake card was a quick and easy card to make especially as the snowflakes were die-cut for us in advance.  The Father Christmas is on a mixed Christmas set from Anitas and the snowflake are made using the Marianne creatables snowflake dies, and covered with ice stickles.

This last card is made using acetate and was difficult to photograph. The flowers were made using woodware flower punches. Sorry I don't know who made the die for the heart as it was pre-cut for us.

Now to best buy for ages. I cannot do bows, it just won't work.   I've been shown 3 different ways of tieing bows and I still make a mess of them.  So I thought I'd give the bow-easy a go.
I bought it from Quixotic paperie.
You will find it here. I watched the video and thought it looked pretty straight forward.
Well I can gladly tell you its brilliant.  It was really easy to pick after watching the video thats on the bow-easy page.  I was sat watcing tv earlier and thought I'd make some bows so I had some in stock.
Here they are :

I'm getting tired now, so off to sit on the settee and blog hop,

Tiddly Inks Challenge 24 - Create an Artist Trading Card & Tiddly Inks Blog Hop

Hello art lovers...this week is your week. :) We are creating ATC cards (some call them ACEOs). These little works of art are 2.5 x 3.5 inches and soooo cute. :)

You have until next Monday night at 10 PM CST to link your ATC below....Can't wait to see them. :)

Well I've never done an ATC before so was a little uncertain but happy to accept the challenge.
My first step was to cut a piece of scrap card to 2.5x3.5 inches so I could get the idea of scale and how well the idea in my head would translate to this tiny piece of card.
I chose one of my all time favourite tiddly inks, Donna., as I wanted my image to be "outside of the box" so to speak.

Donna is coloured in with trusty promarkers.  I've covered the umbrella, her wellies and the puddle in anitas gloss to give the shiny wet look.  I also used the gloss on the three card candies on the bottom right.
The camera has made her pink wellies and pink section of her brolly look orange but just so you know its the same pink as the card candy.

I'm really pleased with how my ATC came out and I will be giving her to my hubby's Gran to use as a bookmark as she is an avid reader.

Please pop by the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog to check out everyone else's amazing entries to the the challenge.

Christmas Acetate Kit

Yesterday and today I have been making up the cards that came in the Christmas acetate kit from Create & Craft.  I have shared this kit with my good friend Kath. Half the kit makes 20 cards which is plenty.
There are 2 parts to the kit the black, gold and white, and the red and gold part.
The black, gold and white kit comprises of flocked cards and printed acetate toppers.

The second part consisted of gold foiled cards with gold printed acetate, along with flocked and glittered elements.

This is the first kit I've purchased and I wouldn't buy an everyday one but for Christmas where you need plenty of cards then this kit was a good buy.
I still need to add bows and gems but the bulk of the work is now done.

Yesterday my friends and I went to Inspirations in Preston.  I got a few things but my best buy was one of the new Gorjuss girls bags.  Its Gorjuss and I will be blinging it up over the forthcoming week.
Hoping to do my Tiddly Inks challenge atc tomorrow.  I've not done an atc before so it should be interesting.

Christmas Cards

Yes I know its ages til Christmas but we've decided that our Thursday crop will concentrate on Christmas cards.
Its Mum's turn to host the crop this week, which means it's my turn to design her the two we will make tomorrow.  As I'm rushed off my feet this week I used a card example from the Do crafts magazine.  This issue comes with a really nice Christmas tree embossing folder so I have used that in the first card.
The topper is the tree embossed on holographic card and then double mounted on white and grey, with a silver peel-off sentiment.  I have cut a strip of silver and used the tree embossing folder to make a zigzag pattern. This piece has organza ribbon tied around it.  The card base has patterned and glittered velum held in place with tiny white brads.

On the second card I have used my inkidinkado Christmas stamps and have heat embossed the snowflake and the Noel in silver.  The verse is printed off my pc.  Both are mounted onto holographic card.
The card is finshed off with ribbon on the verse and gems on the snowflake and spine.

Finally I'm getting to sit down.  So off to watch some tv,

Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge card

This week I was introduced to Doodle Dragon Studios.
Their challenge this week over on their challenge blog is :
Falling for Colors!  That's right, a color challenge for you!  To qualify for the prize you must use a DDS image and the colors BROWNRED & ORANGE...for the purposes of this challenge black and white are neutral.  ;O)   This challenge will run through October 2nd.

The image I chose is called Hedge Roast.

The image is coloured with promarkers and the bag of marshmallows is coated with clear gloss to give it  the appearance of a cellophane bag.
The patterned paper of the reverse side of the Bo Bunny Beautiful Life Leaf.
I have used my Martha Stewart punch on my textured brown card, and finished it off with a peel-off greeting and card candy dots.
I used my making memories edge distress tool on both the patterned paper and the printed image and then inked them with distress ink walnut stain.

I have joined the Doodle Dragon Studio October membership.
Here's what its all about :
Each month at least  40 images will be available for members to download... 10 of which will be "members only" and not released for the general public.
The months membership costs $10. So you will be seeing lots more of Doodle Dragon Studio images within the rest of this month.

And here's my card

The image is Get well bunny and he's been coloured with promarkers, except for his spoon and carrot juice medicine which are coloured with sakura star dust pens.
The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny.  The gold strip across the middle is gold mirri card that I've punched with my Martha Stewart double loops punch.  The strip is finished off by adding pearls to match the flower centre.
The flower was made with 3 single flowers layered with pearls used for the centre.  The leaves were punched in gold mirri card with my woodware punch.
The sentiment was wrote by my craft robo in black sakura stardust pen.
The image and the sentiment are outlined with a dashed/dotted border in brown sakura metallic pen.

This card was made for my good friend Amanda whos currently in hospital.
